Tigist Abebe

Tigist Abebe has been advocating for the health and rights of poor people for nearly 13 years. In 2002 -2003 she volunteered at the World Health Organization’s HIV/ AIDS Department, Tigist led the “3 by 5” initiative, the first global goal for AIDS treatment, which expanded AIDS treatment in developing countries. She has Care Ethiopian clinic in Ethiopia There she met with CrisAid International, hope Ethiopia and victory world church they have been working ever since to deliver high-quality health care to the destitute sick.

Tigist has served as chair of the board since 2008 and served as executive director from 2011 to 2015. Tigist graduated from Texas women’s university Nursing school in December 2002, specializing in Community Health and Health Study. She did her undergrad research in Ethiopia based on HIV and STD with Pact Ethiopia and USAID.

For the last 13 years, Tigist worked with different nonprofit organizations like HOPE Ethiopia, CrisAid going back and forth to Ethiopia and gave medical and health services to the poor who doesn’t have any access. Also, she helped different regions of Ethiopia to have clean water access and built schools for children who couldn’t travel far to get an education. Currently, Tigist is certified-clinical Hemo Dialysis therapy at Emory Healthcare and CEO at Yeabe medical center and rehabilitation.

Messeret Yohannes

Messeret Yohannes is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Messeret graduated from Georgia State University with a Master of Science Degree in Nursing in 2018. She also graduated with her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Kennesaw State University in 2009. Prior to attending nursing school, Messeret also attended Addis Ababa University and studied economics for two years. Messeret has over 10 years of experience as a Registered Nurse working in various hospitals in the state of Georgia. Messeret has devoted her career in taking care of patients with multiple psychological/mental health disorders and medical illnesses. Throughout her nursing career, she provided a direct patient care and involved in leadership role collaborating with physicians, staff, and healthcare professionals in the process of planning and providing effective care.

Messeret believes giving back to the community is a true success. She has always been active in her community in providing community service. In 2015, she was able to help a rural community in Ethiopia get clean water well by organizing community leaders. She is currently managing a bridge construction over the Saga river in South Gondar Ethiopia to save many lives that are lost during the rainy season due to the absence of a bridge. She is also an active member of Medemer in Action movement to help strengthen the rural Ethiopia community and improve their quality of life in the most critical areas such as providing clean water.

Currently, Messeret works as a mental health provider in a psychiatry hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. She is also a part-time instructor, teaching undergraduate nursing students at Georgia State University. Her vision is to give back to her community by teaching, providing medical mission, inspiring, strengthening the rural community and be the voice for those who can not speak for themselves.

Solomon M Gadissa

Solomon M Gadissa, a former Ethiopian Army Captain, graduated from a USSR military academy in 1985. Gadissa served his country until 1991. In 1993 he immigrated to the United States. Since then he worked in various fields mostly as Heating and Cooling technicians. From 2001 to present day Gadissa works at the United States Postal Services, Dallas TX.

In addition to being an active political member. Solmon is also a volunteer at many community organizations. He dedicated over 16 years service Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Debre Mehret Saint Michael Cathedral financial department. Solmon has been strong voice for peace and focusing on the internal problems one ethiopa.

Catherine Merriweather

Meet Catherine Merriweather, a mother of two beautiful girls, native of Atlanta, Georgia entrepreneur and law professional who is intentional about using creative means to bring the women men and children of Ethiopia to Christ. She has a love for hosting and planning events and hopes to use her skills in business and training to applicants to serve the county with their medical skills and to grow closer to Jesus and closer to the body of Christ as a whole. Growing up in a home that ministered to missionaries Catherine was burdened for helping ministries by serving in the background. Her participating with planning committees has given her insight into understanding the spiritual, relational and leadership aspects of ministry and hopes to use that knowledge to expand Yeabe Medical. She loves music, dancing, double-dutch, tennis and every now and then tries extreme sports.

Yesemwork Debebe

Yesemwork (Yesem) Debebe is an author. She has her diploma from an interactive collage of technology as a Microsoft user specialist. Yesem is an inspirational team leader. She organizes the community to bring awareness about the epidemic of kidney failure in Ethiopia.  Dialysis is very expensive in Ethiopia. Many people die everyday from kidney failure. The low income individuals can not afford dialysis even for one day a week. As a result, Yesem has been organizing the community to get financial assistance to pay for dialysis for low income community in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. In the past two years, she organized the local community and got many supporters to get help the local charity called “Mot bekulalit yebka bego adragot mahber for dialysis” in Ethiopia.

She also supported Geregesenon Mental Health Center in Ethiopia. She published her first book in 2016 and donated 100% of the book sale for this mental health institute. The Geregesenon mental health institute provides mental health service, shelter, and food for mentally ill and homeless people in Addis Ababa area. Yesem believed this institute needed financial help to support the low income people who are in crisis.

Yesem and her supporters has been helping mot bekulalit yebeka charity and served the Ethiopian community association in Atlanta as a board vice president and as a radio host.  She is also one of the founder of ecaa eder (insurance) and a member of Hebert maheber that helps elderly men, women, and children in need. Yesem’s vision is to help her home country by organizing the community to contribute in helping the less fortunate and see the better Ethiopia. Yesem and her members joined Yeabe Medical and Rehab Life to support its mission of having dialysis at Black Lion Hospital for those who do not have access due to lack of income.

Soniya Upadhyay is a Clinical Research Professional. She has been in the Clinical trial industry for 10 years and has managed over 75 clinical trials from Phases I-IV. Soniya started as a Clinical Research Coordinator. During this time Soniya recruited, screened, enrolled and randomized patients onto clinical trials.She worked 1 on 1 with patients and Principal Investigators administrating investigational drugs. She executed pre- study visits, tnitiation visits, interim visits and close-out visits and maintained all required regulatory documents for the trials. Soniya’s reason for joining the Clinical Research industry comes from her commitment to help patient’s live better, healthier days. One of her most memorable moments in the industry was during a time in which she was able to provide a compassionate care drug to metastatic basal cell carcinoma patients.

Soniya is now a Project Data Manager and serves as the leader on all data management aspects for clinical trials including start-up, maintenance, and completion activities. She manages cross-functional project teams globally and is the key DM contact for the Sponsor. Soniya also provide mentorship for individuals who are new to the industry and provides guidance and oversight.
Soniya hopes to work with Pharmaceutical companies to provide clinical trial options to all patients worldwide.

Jeny Thatil is a Dietitian/Nutritionist and health expert who is passionate and driven to help improve the quality of life and health of the under-served population. Jeny received her Bachelors in Nutrition and Health Sciences with a minor in Public Health from the University of North Florida. She continued post graduate studies and received her Masters in Nutrition and Health Sciences from Georgia State University. She also completed a one year internship program in clinical nutrition, and is a board certified Registered Dietitian. With her clinical expertise in nutrition for specific disease states, Jeny has successfully helped clients and patients with medical nutrition therapy in many areas including diabetes management, weight-loss, kidney disease, liver diseases, cancer, malnutrition, GI disorders, etc. She is also proficient in parenteral and enteral nutrition. She has many clients successfully improving their nutrition on tube feed and IV nutrition. Jeny has a certification in weight-loss management. Jeny’s specialty area is in dialysis and kidney nutrition. She thrives to improve the lives of chronic kidney disease/ dialysis patients through better nutrition and managing their micro-nutrient and macro-nutrient levels. Jeny has over 11 years of experience in nutrition working in many of Atlanta’s prominent healthcare systems such as Emory Healthcare, Grady hospital, Wellstar hospital, Piedmont hospital and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. She has also worked in the world renown research hospital Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Fl. She has years of leadership experience as the regional lead dietitian for the fortune 500 company, Davita. Her non-profit and voluntary work include serving as a youth leader at the Atlanta Leadership Camp hosted by St. Thomas Orthodox Church. She is also very active in her current church, Crossroads Dunwoody Church, and serves the nursery and youth programs. Bobby Bolton has been in full-time pastoral ministry since 1987. He has a passion for God Word to be proclaimed in our land and for lost and hurting people to be healed. He also has a desire and a calling to help restore a Biblical foundation in the lives of individuals, marriages, and families. Bobby and his wife Judy have pioneered a church, as well as helped to develop many church programs and church leaders over the years. His current position is the Outreach Director at Victory World Church in Norcross. His counseling forte is pre-marriage and marriage counseling. He has also been involved in ministry to men over the years and wants to see God’s men rise up and become men of integrity and character. Bobby has been a member of the GCCA since 1995.

Bobby and Judy have been married for 33 years and have 2 children and 4grandchildren. They enjoy entertaining guests and family at their home in Sugar Hill. Bobby enjoys a variety of hobbies such as gardening, camping, golf & water sports. Judy is retired from Victory but continues to minister with Bobby. Helena M. Washington holds a Masters Degree in Social Work and has been a social worker for over 15 years.  God revealed Washington’s purpose to her at a young age. It was through hergodmother was how she became passionate about uplifting others who do not have a voice. As Washington got older, she knew that social work was the path she would take.

Washington is an advocate for children who were victims of abuse, adults, children suffering from addictions, healthcare, and corrections. She spends her time volunteering in these areas before eventually gaining employment in these areas to an organization. Washington has come to a realization that shecannot do what God has purposed her to do without establishing a relationship with the Lord. As a result, she decided to serve in Victory World Church Celebrate Recovery Ministry.  This ministry helped Washington to solidify her relationship with Christ and to help others realize who they are in Christ so as to build a stronger relationship with their savior. She was involved on mission trips to Sierra Leone and served on various local mission teams with the ministry. She worked in the ministry for 8 years.

Washington’s years of experience volunteering and working at various agencies and organizations shows that her passion as an advocate will be an asset to Yeabe Medical and Rehabilitation. Most importantly, she will serve to give God all the glory.

Kenneth R. Washington

Kenneth R. Washington had an exciting career, which gave him the opportunity to travel and life
experiences. He served as a combat veteran in Vietnam War. Entering the US Air Force in 1968, retiring in 1990. Washington earned an Associate Degree in Financial Management in 1985.

He worked as a Corrections Officer in Correction Administration with The State Department of Corrections from 1990 to 2004, Washington also worked in Correction Gwinnett County from 2005 until he retired in 2009. Presently, Washington is contracted as Supervisor with the Atlanta Center of Decease Control. Other notable ventures that Washington partook in was being involved in Boy Scouting, as a Big Brother with Big Brothers and United Way; Board Member, National Association for the Advancement of (NAACP), Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, NM.

As well as being the President. A Mexico, Juneteenth Committee; Blood Donor, American Red Cross as a certified Safety Driver Instruction with American Association (AARP), and lastly Washington is a member of Victory World Church where he actively serve ministries and participated on five missionary trips. Washington has been married for 32 years with three daughters, all whom are all grown up, two are married while the third a college student. In his leisure time, Washington enjoys family gatherings, traveling outside the U.S and collecting Spiritual Books.

Dr. Andre’ K. Westfield, Sr. is a man after the heart of God. He is a graduate of East Tennessee State University receiving a BSEH (Environmental Health).

He further studied and received an (AS) degree from Christian Life School of Theology, Dr. Westfield later received his (DD) from St. Thomas Christian College in 2010. He served as senior pastor for over 12 years, he was a district leader in a major US denomination serving as district superintendent,a retiree from the state of Georgia, USA, Department of Public Health, compliance officer and supervisor.

Dr. Westfield has launched Ripple Effect International Ministries which has already begun to impact nations around the world. Currently he serves as the chaplain for Villa Rica, Georgia Police Department, he also is active in jail ministry.

His love for church leaders has enabled him to be a spiritual father and mentor to many. His passion for nations and the diverse people groups all over the globe is evident. He is passionately in love with his wife (Ana), has two wonderful God-fearing adult children and one granddaughter. (together they have 7 children and 10 grandchildren).

He enjoys canoeing, table tennis,walking, international travel and quality time with his wife Ana.
